Key Success Factors


  • Leaders must establish a sense of urgency, show the need for transformation and be passionate about improving things for end users
  • Intentional commitment and involvement of all Senior Leaders, the formation of a Steering Team with enough authority and determination to lead the change effort
  • Select the best people to champion Continuous Improvement - create the process for improvement and budget
  • For the whole organisation, create, & communicate the future vision, set clear strategies, use a variety of media, align the business and its people to the vision - let everyone 'feel the need', understand and experience the values of the organisation
  • Create short term wins (as apposed to hoping for short term wins) and lay the foundations for further improvements - demonstrate early results to build up motivation, empower the organisation  to take action in line with the vision
  • Formally review the business measures, frequently confirming progress against plans based on fact and data - ensure a bias for action and creativity before spending - focus people development on solving real business issues
  • Transform at a sustainable pace- don't declare victory too soon - recognise employees who can implement the vision and use increased credibility from earlier wins to challenge more complex business issues and barriers
