Total Place

Total Place is a new initiative that looks at how a 'whole area' approach to public services can lead to better services at less cost.  It seeks to identify and avoid overlap and duplication between organisations - delivering a step change in both service inprovement and efficiency at the local level, as well as across Whitehall.

There are 13 pilot areas participating in the scheme, each area ensuring a diverse mix of economic, geographical and demographic profiles.  These pilots have a real opportunity to redesign the way public services are planned and delivered.

LT Consulting has been involved with two of these pilots.

Luton and Central Bedfordshire Councils have looked at 'from dependence to self-reliance' as a theme, focusing on access to benefits and offender management.   Please click the below icon to view the initial presentation of findings. 

Total Place Coventry City Council, Warwickshire County Council and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Councils have chosen to look at the recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff in schools, as part of their wider remit of improving the outcome and experience of children and carers in relation to education.
